Design: Preparation and Brief

Once the consultancy has been completed, the results will set out
the vision for the project along with parameters and objectives
that can be used to inform and measure the success of a project
A comprehensive and secure brief ensures the delivery of a successful project. We have the experience and expertise to assist in developing a brief that is founded on a methodology that evaluates current occupancy characteristics and explores future organisational aspirations and standards
This process involves key stakeholders and can be as immersive as the organisation thinks appropriate, we can advise on different approaches and how other organisations have used this methodology to their advantage

Typically we would run three workshops:

Workshop 1: What’s Working, What’s Not (Observation Exercise)

Ricoh’s design team will carry out
a ‘What’s Working, What’s Not’ workshop that allows you to understand how the key components of your business
are performing against your expectations and how they are rated and perceived by your employees

The purpose of this exercise is
to understand physical manifestations of culture along with visual examples of what is working and what is not working in the current environment

Teams are asked to observe the workplace with a ‘new’ set of eyes

Typically we would run three workshops:

Workshop 2:
Space Planning Exercise

The purpose of this exercise is for the workshop participants to plan the floor plate with the types of space they require and to see where they think they are best suited
A great way to kick start the employee engagement piece that the project depends on

Workshop 3:
Photo Montage Exercise

Taking a simplified building layout and a series of images that represent various types of space, and varying styles of look and feel we would like you to position the images on the plans to indicate where you would like those specific types of space

Our consultancy services cover occupancy and space planning, accessing the voice of the people, process workflow analysis, paper & storage audit, meeting room assessments, learning & training and change management.

Design Phases

Space Planning:

Ricoh’s design team will combine
the analysis of the workshop findings and recommendations with other supporting occupancy data etc. to create concept designs, to include 2D GA layouts/3D Visuals of what your new space could look like.

Developed Design:

Following on from delivery of the design concept, the design will be developed to specific headcount requirements to a point where the design is frozen.
This will include revisions to the 3D model (price includes 2 sets of revisions).

Design Phases

Technical Design:

Once the concept design has been developed and signed off
we move into the technical design phase. In this phase the
drawing package is developed, to allow for accurate costs,
as well as the build of the project.

Typical drawings that we will create for this phase are: GA,
Partitioning Layout, Reflected Ceiling, Raised Floor, Floor Finishes,
Decorations Schedule, Outline bespoke joinery drawings,
Outline interior specification information.

On completion you will be in a position to proceed
with any refurbishments of the space which utilises
all information collated to date and ensures full ownership
and engagement from the team members involved.
