At Ricoh UK, we are committed to addressing the gender pay gap
Our global diversity statement clearly sets out our commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive environment across our organisation:
“At Ricoh, we embrace and respect the collective and unique talents, experience, and perspectives of all people. Together we inspire remarkable innovation. That’s how we live the Ricoh Way.”
This underpins our strategy and approach to gender diversity across our business.
This report is based on statistics up to April 2020 and shows a reduction of the average gender pay gap from 24.3% in 2019 to 4.9%. The figures also show more females in the Upper (+ 0.1%) and Upper Middle (+ 2.7%) pay quartiles than in 2019.
It should be noted that this reduction is skewed by business impacts from the Covid-19 pandemic at the time when data was collected, including furloughed employees and opted salary reductions for higher earners.
We’re aware that the challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic have continued to have many implications for our people and the wider population since April 2020 and will have indeed impacted these figures. Therefore I think it’s important to put this report in the context of the challenges of the past year and how this has further underpinned the need for a continued focus on gender balance throughout all aspects of our organisation.
In light of the move to large-scale remote working and the various challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic that have reportedly impacted women in particular, we are reinforcing our commitment to generate further opportunity and development so that we can continue to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce as we look to the future.
We are committed to continuing to reduce the gender pay gap and further details of these initiatives are shared within this 2020 report.
